Thanks to its close link to the Politecnico di Torino and to the World Food Programme of the United Nations, ITHACA boasts an operational and fertile network of international partners that contribute to the daily activities of the Association.
The International Cooperation sector pursues the specific aim of fostering and nourishing ITHACA's external relations by seeking collaborative partnerships for the preparation of basic and applied research project proposals for funding opportunities, as well as for the participation to international tenders in projects and operations financed by the development community.

Global Monitoring for Environment and Security (GMES) is a joint initiative of the European Commission and European Space Agency, which aims at achieving an autonomous and operational Earth observation capacity.
Implementation of an initial GMES Service for Geospatial Data Access covering areas outside Europe
Reference data are vital both to the GMES core and downstream services (in particular emergency response, land, atmosphere and security services) and to end-user applications in order to provide the basic geographic framework on top of which additional (thematic) spatial information can be produced and disclosed (e.g. land use/land cover maps, asset maps and damage assessment maps in response to crisis). Reference data are typically provided by data providers at regional or national level. Within Europe the States are obliged to make this data accessible in accordance with the Inspire Directive. In order to take full benefit from the data available a central service is needed to access these reference data providers in a unified manner.

Web GIS Application containing a Survey on Cultural Heritage sites in Cyprus
The project focuses on the creation of a WebGIS application that collects, classify, and gives back information on Cyprus cultural heritage. The need of this tool comes from the reflection that land management cannot ignore the use of a highly communication effective tools and of decisions support, having a capacity of synthesis and potentials of storing, processing and visualizing a great number of information. Beneficiary of the project is the United Nations Development Programme Partnership for the Future (UNDP - PFF).
