Wacmos project
Rossella and Gashaw attended the workshop "WACMOS feedback to science community and water cycle roadmap in a changing climate" held on 2-4, April 2011, at Vienna University of Technology, Vienna, Austria. WACMOS (http://wacmos.itc.nl/) is an ESA initiative to produce global products for the whole water cycle. The project aims to set up a solid scientific basis for the creation of coherent long-term datasets of water relevant geo-information. Four themes are identified to develop global water cycle datasets:
- Evapo-transpiration
- Soil moisture
- Clouds relevant products: surface solar irradiance and precipitation
- Water vapour.
Useful contacts were established for the purpose of data access Ithaca projects can benefit from. All the workshop outcomes, as well as presentations, are available on Ithaca internal server.
