In the framework of the Open Data for Resilience Initiative (OpenDRI), in 2011 the World Bank launched the GeoNode based data-sharing platform HaitiData.org with the aim to collect data related to risk management and disaster available through several programs and projects. In 2017 the World Bank contracted ITHACA, in partnership with the South African company Kartoza, for the assignment involving two main tasks:

  1. Updating the existing Haiti GeoNode platform (HaitiData) using the latest version of GeoNode and developing additional functions specific to HaitiData.
  2. In depth training of staff of the CNIGS (Centre National de l'Information Géo-Spatiale) that will be responsible of the renewed HaitiData platform.

The first goal of the consultation is to improve HaitiData in many ways: ergonomics, increase services, develop new features; set up a procedure for version control, testing, back-up and deploy. The second goal is to train the staff of the CNIGS so that they are independent to follow-up the evolution of the platform.
